Langra mangoes, also known as Banarasi Langra, is a mango cultivar primarily grown in Varanasi, or Banaras, Northern India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
It is normally harvested during the last half of June to August.
The mangoes are oval shaped and their size varies from medium to large. This cultivar retains a green tinge even when it's ripe. The flesh is fiberless, dark yellow in colour, is very pungent when it ripens, and is naturally very sugary and soft in texture.
It is considered suitable for slicing and canning.
