Pakoras are popular all over the world and are eaten as a snack, starter or accompaniment. This light batter mix can be used to make delicious vegetable pakoras or chicken pakoras. Pakoras are chopped/sliced vegetables or chicken pieces deep fried in a lightly spiced fritter batter and are popular all over the world . They are eaten as a snack, starter or accompaniment. Ingredients: Chickpea flour, Salt, Red Chilli Powder, Ajwain Powder, Cumin Seed Powder, Raising Agent (Sodiuym Bicarbonate), Asafoetida powder
Suitable for vegetarians.
1 Mix the contents of the pack with 200ml (7 fl oz) of water.
2 Stir into a smooth creamy batter and allow to stand for 5 minutes.
3 Slice potatoes, aubergine onions or whole fresh chillies and dip into the batter to coat evenly.
Alternatively slice small chicken pieces, fry quickly to seal, dip in the pakora batter and fry until golden brown. Test to ensure the chicken is cooked through and jucy.
4 Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown, drain on kitchen roll.
5 Serve hot with tomato sauce or chutney
