Custard Apples season runs from September to December.
They’re unusual in looks yet exceptionally sweet in flavour. Juicy and fragrant, Custard Apples have a soft, creamy flesh with an array of tropical fruit notes. Give them a squeeze to check if they’re ripe - if they give a little, it’s time to cut it in half, discard the seeds, grab a spoon and tuck in.
They’re also commonly used in smoothies, fruit salads, ice creams and yoghurts.
