Taj Spring Roll Pastry Sheets Recipe

Here is a classic samosa recipe you can try at home using Taj Spring Roll Pastry Sheets:

Potato Vegetable Samosa

  • 2 ½ cup peeled and diced potatoes, cut into ½-inch pieces
  • 1 Tbsp cumin seed
  • 1 Tbsp fennel seed
  • 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp coriander seed
  • ½ cup finely diced onion
  • 2 clove of minced garlic
  • ½ cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 1-inch fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 1 pkg (1 lb), frozen chopped spinach, thawed and excess juices squeezed out
  • salt and pepper
  • vegetable oil for frying

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water until they are tender. Drain, and then set aside.
  2. Sauté toast fennel, cumin, and coriander seeds for 2 minutes until you can smell the rich aroma. Add oil and sauté the onions for 4 minutes until they are translucent. Add garlic and ginger and sauté one minute more
  3. Pour in the cooked potatoes, spinach, and peas. Mash them lightly and then season to taste. Let the filling cool.
  4. Using Taj Spring Roll Pastry Sheets, fill them equally with the potato fillings according to your preferred serving quantity.
  5. Fill your pot with about 2 inches of oil and let it reach 350F in heat. Place the samosas in carefully using tongs and cook until they are golden brown. Make sure to cook both sides evenly.
  6. Remove them from the pot once they are cooked and drain the excess oil using tissues or paper towel linen for your plate.
  7. Serve them hot or room temperature. You can also add Mango chutney to enhance the flavour.
