Although Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations might be a little different this year, you can still enjoy a festive spread at home! We’ve curated three simple recipes to help you have a delicious celebration.

This quick and easy shrikhand recipe uses Greek yogurt to save time. Topped with chunky nuts and dried fruit, itis said to be Ganesh’s favourite festive treat.

SERVES: 4

Ingredients

  • 250g greek yoghurt

  • 1/2tsp saffron

  • 5tbsp powdered sugar

  • 1 1/2tsp green cardamom powder

  • 1tbsp crushed hazelnuts(heaped)

  • 1tbsp crushed pistachio nuts (heaped)

1tbsp dried fruit of your choice

Method

1. Place the saffron strings in a small bowl and cover them with water to soak and drain the colour.
2. Place the Greek yoghurt in a large mixing bowl with the powdered sugar and cardamom powder and mix well. Then add the saffron with the water, as well as the crushed hazelnuts and pistachio  and mix.
3. Keep in the fridge to cool, serve with extra saffron, dried fruit and nuts sprinkled on top.
