Badami or the Alphonso Mangoes of Karnataka is one of the superior varieties of mangoes cultivated, and grown in India. It has a pale-yellow thin skin, through which you can easily tell through touch the softness of the insides. The meat of the mango is a bright and luscious yellow-orange with only a medium-thickness on its stone centre. Badami mangoes have a delicately sweet, luscious, succulent, and juicy taste. Just to be clear, Badami is only a close relative of Alphonso mangoes, they are grown mainly in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Karnataka states. However, due to their minuscule differences, they are commonly mistaken to be the same.

Mangoes are considered to be the “King of Fruits”, for some parts of the world. India is one of those with their major mango-growing states like Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu. This made India a prominent exporter of fresh mangoes in the world.
