Traditional crispy and juicy saffron hued Indian sweet made from fermented batter of wheat flour & lentil. The batter is poured in a pretzel-like shape, deep-fried and dipped in sugar syrup. Jalebis are traditionally enjoyed in India as a breakfast snack with milk.
How to prepare:
1. Mix the content of the pack with 190ml of water, stir to a smooth batter, pour into gits jalebi maker.
2. Heat 500ml of oil or ghee in a shallow pan, hold the nozzle of the jalebi make just above the surface of the oil, squeeze to make 3 and 1/2circle with the batter starting from the centre and sealing the end in the last half-round. Deep fry on medium heat till crisp and golden
3. Immerse jalebi in warm sugar syrup for 20sec, serve hot or cold.
Direction for preparation of sugar syrup: Dissolve 450g sugar in 360ml of water, bring to boil reduce heat and simmer for 5-6mins, Tip: Add a few strands of saffron to the sugar syrup for better flavour, serve hot jalebi with chilled gits rabdi
