Description

The sweet taste of Sapota fruit makes everyone fall in love with it. This fruit is derived from Sapota, an evergreen tropical tree. The fruit is grown across India and has plenty of names. Caramel fruit, Chikoo, Cappotta, Naseberry, Sapeta, and Chiku are famous for this fruit.

Apart from the delicious taste, this fruit is rich in nutrients like Vitamin E, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C, among others. This fruit is best eaten when ripe and soft. Cut the fruit in the middle for a taste of the delicious juicy flesh.

How to Eat Chikoo Fruit

The process of eating Sapota starts by confirming if the fruit is ripe. Gently scratch a section of the fruit. Brown indicates the Sapota fruit is ready to eat, whereas green means the fruit isn’t ripe.

Any ripe Sapota fruit has a soft texture when gently squeezed. Cut a ripe Chikoo fruit into two and use a spoon to scoop the flesh.
